Product Introduction

Methyl'predni solone is a glucocorticoid. Glucocorticoids are adrenocortical steroids, both naturally occurring and synthetic, which are readily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Methyl'predni solone occurs as a white to practically white, odorless, crystalline powder. It is sparingly soluble in alcohol, in dio xane, and in me thanol, slightly soluble in ace tone, and in chloro form, and very slightly soluble in ether. It is practically insoluble in water.
Methyl'predni solone is a synthetic glucocorticoid or corticosteroid drug. It is marketed in the USA and Canada under the brand names Medrol and SoluMedrol.It is also available as a generic drug.It is a variant of predni solone, methylated at carbon 6 of the B ring.

Function

1.Like most adrenocortical steroids, methyl'predni solone is typically used for its anti-inflammatory effects;
2. Methyl'predni solone is also prescribed for nonpenetrating spinal cord injuries;
3.Common uses include arthritis therapy and short-term treatment of bronchial inflammation or acute bronchitis due to various respiratory diseases;
4. Methyl'predni solone can also used for vestibular neuritis;
5.Methyl'predni solone irreversibly binds with glucocorticoid receptors (GR) alpha and beta for which they have a high affinity.

Application

1.Applied in pharmaceutical field, It is used both in the treatment of acute periods and long-term management of autoimmune diseases, most notably systemic lupus erythematosus;
2. It is also used as a treatment for multiple sclerosis.
