Milbemycin oxime is a specific drug for the prevention and treatment of internal and external parasites in dogs and cats. It can effectively prevent and treat heartworm, hookworm, roundworm, whipworm, roundworm, roundworm and other internal parasites, as well as ectoparasites such as tricystis, scabies, lice and flea.
The main neurotransmitter of invertebrates (such as in vivo and in vivo parasites) is GABA (γ-aminobutyric acid). When Mirbxime enters the parasites, the binding force of GABA will be enhanced, so that chloride ions will continue to enter the cell membrane, and the membrane potential will continue to be hyperpolarized and nerve conduction will be interrupted, resulting in paralysis and death of parasites.
However, in mammals, only a small amount of GABA exists in the central nervous system. However, since Milbexime cannot pass the blood-brain barrier, it will not cause adverse effects on the nerve conduction of mammals, even for collie dogs that are generally considered to have high permeability of the blood-brain barrier.
Therefore, this drug has higher safety than ivermectin and abamectin, and will not cause adverse reactions of sheepdogs and Shetland dogs.
